FINAL WORDS

A)

Maltese Words for Final Report

What are the main achievements and results of your project?
Please explain how the project results match the plans at the time of the application and describe how they are linked to the project priorities.
The main achievement we acquired from the project was that we made new friendships that will last for a lifetime. As a result of the project we also learned to respect others, irrespective of race, skin colour religion, customs and cultures. We also learned to tolerate and appreciate other people’s way of life an character and instead of looking to those things that we don’t like we learned to find things that we like in other people. Ultimately we realised  that it is possible that people of different ideas and opinions can live together so that life will be more complete. Unity in diversity

Please briefly explain who participated in the project: Which different groups of participants participated in the project activities (e.g. students, teachers, other pedagogical staff, parents, etc.)? Please also provide information about participants at local level (participants who have participated in project activities but have not travelled within the scope of the project). How were these groups of people involved in project activities? If students were involved, please indicate their age.
Apart from the teachers that were directly involved in the project and the students that took part in the mobilities, there were also other people indirectly involved. The hospitality teachers and students (ages between 15 and 17) were involved by preparing the lunch when the participants came to our school. The multimedia  teachers and students (ages between 15 and17) helped because there was always a multimedia student taking photos and videos during all the activities be it at school and even outside school. The minor staff that prepared the hall and served coffee and biscuits. Other teachers that were involved in the initial presentations. Apart from the guides that voluntarily explained and showed us around all the historic places we went to.

Please describe the contributions, tasks and responsibilities of each participating school. If schools that have never been involved in a Strategic Partnership before have participated in this project, please explain how they were supported by the other partners.
Each participating school had a different task to perform during the project and the tasks were; Official logo selection, Creation of project website, the creation of an eTwinning page; a project blog, and Facebook page and uploading project videos on Youtube. It didn’t matter whether one of the partners was new or not the partners each other all through the project. Everybody gave his opinion and helping hand when there was a task to be done. In this way the tasks were distributed between everybody

How did you ensure reliable project management, good cooperation and good communication between partners during project implementation?
The success of the project as a whole was due to the high motivation of all the partners The cooperation between us was perfect to say the least. Communication was done by several means. A private group was created on massager as well as on whatsappThe majority of the communications were through this means. A facebook page was also created and the German coordinator created several padlets, one for each mobility so that we could upload project materials in them.
Please describe the main challenges or difficulties you have encountered during the implementation of your project partnership. How did you and your partners deal with this?
The main difficulties we faced during the project were the fact that all the other partners’ location in the their country were far from the nearest international airport, therefore we either had to catch 2 flights or we had to travel by train or by coach for a quite a long trip apart we had to exceed the budget allocated fortravel. This extra money that was incurred for this extra travel had to be taken from the management and implementation fund.. Apart from that, there was complete cooperation between all the partners and no other difficulties were encountered.

If you have used eTwinning, School Education Gateway or the Erasmus+ project results platform to prepare, implement or follow up your project, please describe how.
eTwinning was the tool used for the project. The partners were found on this platform and even during the preparation and implementation process, eTwinning was used to upload various materials that have been carried out during the project

Please describe the practical arrangements regarding the training, teaching and learning activities that have been carried out as part of the project work. How did you select, prepare and support the participants and ensure their safety?
When planning for the LTT activities an action plan was always created. The persons that were going to take part were selected according to the theme of the mobility. A meeting with parents was scheduled and during this meeting every aspect of the mobility will be explained so that the parents will know exactly what is going to happen while their children are abroad. Flight tickets will be purchased as early as possible so that we will have them for a good price. Insurance coverage is bought for all participants and also all the participants are encouraged to obtain the European Medical card. A List of all the necessary things will be given to the students so that they will have everything that is needed during the mobility. During the mobilities were always in contact with our families, so that they will know that everything is going fine.

Please compare your current expectations regarding the long-term impact and sustainability of your project with your expectations at the application stage, based on your experience during project implementation. Do you expect that the project will have the long-term impact on the schools involved as described in the application? Have your expectations changed since then? Please explain your answer. Do you and your partners plan to continue using the project results after the project ends or continue some of the project activities? Describe what you plan, if applicable.
When comparing the current expectations with the expectations during application, I think that we exceeded these expectations thanks to the collaboration between local staff and also between participating schools. It is important that what has been achieved with this project will continue and also improve since the number of foreign students attending our schools with diverse multicultural aspects is increasing every year. The number of people that change their  country of birth to go and start a new life in a different country is increasing every single year. These people bring with them different ideas, different religions, different lifestyles, etc.  It is important that these families will integrate well in their new country.

Please describe the activities you have carried out to make your project known and your results widely used. How did you publicise your project results within your partnership, in your immediate environment, and with a wider audience? What were the main target groups of your dissemination activities? Have other groups benefited from your project? Please explain how this happened.
The activities that were carried out to make our project know were: Staff meeting school conferences, where the participants explained in detail what is being done to their colleagues. Open days for parents, people from the locality and other schools from all over the country. During these open days apart from showing everybody how the school runs we also showcase the Erasmus projects that we are taking part in. These will be maned by students that took part  and they will explain the objectives of these projects. Other groups especially schools started implementing the methodologies that we have acquired during the project and we have been told that they were found beneficial.

In addition to the Erasmus+ project results platform and the project website, will you also publish the project results on the websites of the participating schools, in Twinspace or through other channels? If this is the case, please briefly describe your plans and make sure to mention the relevant web addresses as well as all other places where the project results will be available.
Apart from the Erasmus project results platform the result were published on Etwinning as well as the school’s website and the school magazine.
Please summarize the project results you have worked out and what you have achieved in the course of the project. Have all the original project objectives been implemented? Please also explain goals that were originally intended but then not realized in the project, as well as results that go beyond the initial expectations.
All the planned objectives have been implemented, expect those that were ging to be done in Romania during the last LTT. These had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most important thing that has been acquired is the fact that we started to appreciate the traditions, culture and other things, like language, art, music and everything that make peoples of other countries unique. An aspect of the project that went beyond expectations is that fact that those who took part in the project became not just friends but family.

How was the project innovative and/or how has it complemented other projects already carried out?
The project was innovative because we have incorporated other systems of education, implemented by other countries into our own, updating it to suit out needs. We found out that certain systems used by other countries are also good for us and vice versa. One of the most important aspects was that we should give our students more hands on tasks to be solved by them instead of the usual spoon feeding practice. This project complimented other projects that has already been carried out, since in this project there were different countries taking part, so we increased the spectrum of ideas that different countrieshave.

What were the main topics covered in your project? (multiple selection possible)
The main topics covered in our project were: Literature, Music, Dance, Art, Religion, Politics, History and Way of Life.
Please estimate how many people who did not receive a grant benefited from or were approached by project activities (e.g. members of the local community, young people, professionals, decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders)? Please enter a number:
In my opinion the number of people who did not receive a grant and still benefitted from the project was 200
Please explain in detail the project activities financed by the grant for project management and implementation costs.
Some of the project activities financed by this grant were; conferences and SDPs (staff development Programme, materials to carry out the activities of the projects, like paint, paint brushes, folders, flags souvenirs, etc. , There were also entrance fees for Museums and other historical sites. Food that was given complimentary when they were at school. Printing of literature and Certificates and other stationary. We also used the grant to pay for the expenses for travelling since the partner schools were not in the vicinity of the airport.

Please describe the methodology used in your project.
The participants that took part in the mobilities were briefed about the theme of the mobility they were going to take part in. The teachers told the students what their intensions are and what they pretend to be the outcome. Then the students were left to think and came out with a strategy on how the activity will be. The teachers were always there to give the students a helping hand when they needed it. The teachers also gave the students suggestion, on how the activity should be. This way the students were given more responsibility on how to run the activity, motivating them and stimulating their imagination. This was the methodology used in all the mobilities.

How did you communicate and collaborate with your partners? What are the positive and negative elements of the cooperation process? What would you change if you carried out a similar project in the future?
As regards to communication, the language used was English when we were together, when all the partners were in their own country, everybody used messenger or whatsapp and even sometimes by telephone. In my opinion there was only positive elements during the cooperation process. Sometimes one had to get out of his way so as to implement an activity of the project. If I had to carry out  similar project I would not change anything but maybe add to what has been carried out.

For each activity, please describe the background and profile of the people who participated in the training, teaching and learning activities. How were the participants selected, prepared and supported? If applicable, please describe practical arrangements that have been made, including training, teaching or learning arrangements.
The participants that participated in the activities were selected according to their knowledge and interest in the topic of the mobility. For instance, for the first project, which dealt with literature, 2 students that were good in Maltese literature and language were chosen. The selected literature and songs lyrics were chosen by the student themselves and they practiced the readings before the mobility. The same can be said about the students that were chosen to o Corum Turkey. Since the topic was music and dance, we chose 2femalestudents that have dance as part of their curriculum and before going to Turkey they practiced 2Maltese traditional dances with their teacher. Even one of the teachers that came to Turkey took part by playing the clarinet. The other students that attended for the other mobilities were chosen in the same way.
